Nutrition, Ageing and Longevity

Inleiding

During the lectures of the Danone Chair an extensive overview of the interaction of nutrition with ageing was given in a way that was very much appreciated by the audience. The basic aspects of nutrition such as nutritional requirements and assessment of nutritional status in older people were addressed. Subsequently the lectures focused on very actual topics such as osteoporosis and the complex concept of frailty, introducing an integrated view of the dynamic changes that describe the evolution from robustness to functional disability.
